Riverside Park United Methodist Church is on the corner of Park Street and Riverside Park Place across from Riverside Park. We are located in the heart of Riverside near the Five Points business district.   We welcome you to join us for worship on Sunday.  You'll find our congregation to be warm and friendly and from a wide range of ages and walks of life.  For more than 125 years, Riverside Park United Methodists have worshiped God and welcomed visitors to join them.

Worship services

On Sunday mornings, two worship services are offered, contemporary at 9:00 a.m. and traditional at 11:00 a.m.  The contemporary service features praise music with instrumentalists and vocalists.  The traditional service includes a full choir and historic organ presenting well-loved hymns and classical pieces.

Parking

Ample parking is available in the adjacent lot between the sanctuary and I-95 as well as street parking on Park Street.  There are several spots reserved up close for visitors and the physically challenged.  Ramps and elevators make access to our church buildings easier.   An off-duty police officer is on site to direct traffic on Sunday mornings.

NURSERY

A competent and caring nursery staff is ready to look after the little ones on Sunday morning.  Our nursery is located in the Education Building directly behind the sanctuary.  From the parking lot, you will see an open gate between the sanctuary and the Education Building.  Go through this gate and follow the colorful footprints to the nursery.  A room is available for nursing mothers.

Sunday School

On Sunday mornings, you can grab a bagel and coffee or juice from the Fellowship Hall then check out our many Sunday school classes, which are offered for all ages.  All adult classes are held in the McCord Building.  Check out our Sunday School page to see a description of each class. These classes offer Bible study and lively interaction with fellow seekers for more in-depth study and fellowship.

Children

RiverKids: Worship is our version of children's church.  It is a time when kids are enriched in their Sunday experience!  Kids who are in Pre-K4 through 5th grade are invited to join the leaders each Sunday.  Children will be directed from the sanctuary to the Children’s Arts & Crafts Room (# 311) in the McCord Building. RiverKids: Worship takes place each Sunday during the 9 am contemporary service right after the Children’s Moment with the exception of Communion Sundays, Unity Services and special Sundays when children can worship with their families.

Sunday School takes place every Sunday from 10:10-10:50 am. Meet teachers for grades Pre-K4 through 5th grade on the second floor of the Education Building behind the sanctuary! (Children attending RiverKids: Worship will be taken directly to their age-appropriate Sunday School class.) Classrooms are in the Education Building as follows:

Pre-K4 & Kindergarten: Room 504        1st & 2nd Grade: Room 506        3rd-5th Grade: Room 505

RiverKids: Praise is a time for kids to celebrate and learn music for worship! All children in Pre-K4 through 5th grade are encouraged to join Ms. Nancy in Room 507 of Education Building at the end of Sunday School (10:50 am) to sing and learn music until 11:30 am. Kids can be picked up at 11:30 am in the Fellowship Hall or will be escorted to the Sanctuary if their families are in 11:00 worship.

Please note: RiverKids: Worship & Praise are offered during the regular school year and take a break during the summer months.

YOUTH

Youth Sunday School classes meet on the 3rd floor of the McCord Building from 10:10 a.m. to 10:50 a.m.  Middle School meets in Room 309 and High School meets in Room 304.  On most Sunday evenings during the school year, the 6th through 12th graders, meet for "Youth Group" or UMYF starting at 4:45 p.m.  They have dinner, devotionals, group activities and games.  Parents may pick up their child at 7:00 p.m.
