Margaret's Memories is a standing mission project of the Riverside Park United Methodist Church and makes Bereavement Memory Boxes for parents who lose a child(ren) to miscarriage, stillbirth, or death shortly after birth. The boxes are donated to local hospitals in Jacksonville, Florida.
The Circle of Grace of the United Methodist Women has made this their standing mission project. We will have box making events throughout the year. Since founding Margaret’s Memories, we have provided memory boxes to First Coast families free of charge.
The Riverside Park United Methodist Church is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit organization and 100% of all donations made go directly to helping families. Margaret's Memories is run by a staff of volunteers and if you would like to assist in this project in any way, your help would be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions regarding our organization or the mission project itself, please feel free to contact us. Click here for a First Coast News story about the mission project.
RPUMC supports the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home (FUMCH) and Madison Youth Ranch through special offerings on every 5th Sunday as well as other fundraising opportunities. The FUMCH is a home for abused and/or abandoned children. In addition to their 100-acre campus and living facility in Enterprise, Florida they recently opened a second facility, the Madison Youth Ranch, in Pinetta, Florida.
These events are a way for RPUMC to give back to the community.
Every spring, RPUMC volunteers host an event in Riverside Park that includes Easter Egg Hunts for children, sno-cones, popcorn, and a drawing for free prizes.
Every summer, just before school starts, we host “Rockin’ Back to School” also in Riverside Park. We give free backpacks and school supplies while supplies last and St. Vincent’s mobile unit is on site for free school physicals.
Every fall, we host Trunk or Treat in our parking lot. Church members decorate the trunks of their vehicle and pass out candy and treats to trick-or-treaters. All our welcome to this fun event.
For the last several years, Riverside Park United Methodist Church has donated food and hygiene items to the food pantry at Trinity Lutheran Church. All through the month, and especially on the first Sunday, we bring the donations to our church, where we gather it up and deliver it to Trinity’s food pantry. Some Riverside Park members volunteer at Trinity’s pantry on a regular basis, helping bag food and give it to the needy folks who come for help. We deeply appreciate Trinity Lutheran’s ministry to help the hungry, and we want to show our gratitude to them by offering whatever assistance we can.
