Chancel Choir Our wonderful choir serves weekly at the 11:00 a.m. Traditional Worship Service and is made up of talented singers aged 18 years and older. Cantatas, concerts, and performances with professional instrumentalists are included in each year’s offerings. A time for “praises and concerns” ends each rehearsal. Chancel Ringers advanced adult handbell choir serves in worship monthly (September – May) and present a concert during the spring. Community performances are also part of their yearly activities. Rehearsals are Sundays at 5:00 p.m. in room 201. For information contact John Larsen at .
Praise Team serves weekly at the 9:00 a.m. Contemporary Worship Service. The team is made up of outstanding instrumentalists and singers who offer the latest praise songs and other favorites. Rehearsals are Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m. in the sanctuary. For information contact Millie Hudson at .
RiverKids: Praise is our children’s choir. These young singers serve periodically in worship and present a musical each Christmas. They meet on Sunday mornings at 11:00 a.m. in room 403. For more information, please contact Nancy Newman at .
Chapel Ringers We are blessed to have one of the few children’s bell choirs in our city. This talented group of 3rd – 5th graders serves once a month in both worship services. They rehearse on Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. in room 201. For more information, please contact Nancy Newman at .
Chancel Organ: The great Chancel Organ of Riverside Park is comprised of the 1958 Austin Organ that was purchased and enlarged in 1989. By 2014, it was apparent that the 56 year old technology of the console was failing and a corrosion known as "sugaring" was attacking several hundred pipes. Funds were immediately found to replace the Great Trumpet and shore up all critical areas. In the next year, the congregation stepped forward raising all funding needed for a major renovation of the organ. Cornel Zimmer Organ Builders of Denver, North Carolina was chosen to build a new console, restore and regulate hundreds of pipes, install new choir and swell shade engines and add the wonderful antiphonal division on the west wall. The new state of the art console controls 91 ranks in 4 divisions and is a wonderful addition to glorify our God.
Steinway Piano: We are blessed to have a 9' Steinway Concert Grand in our sanctuary. The piano does come with some mystery though. We have known for some time that it was an older model but it was thought to be from the early 1900s. The recently discovered serial number led to a report from Steinway and Sons in New York City that we are in the possession of a 1876 "Centennial" Grand Piano. This piano was delivered to Charlestown, NH in 1876. How it came to Riverside Park is a mystery that has yet to be discovered.
